The Commander of the 023/Kawal Samudera Military Command, Colonel Inf. Iwan Budiarso, personally led the aid distribution, which took nearly two hours over difficult terrain. The collapsed road, impassable by vehicles, forced Task Force personnel to walk over steep inclines and slippery paths to ensure the aid reached the location.
The Commander of Military District 023/KS emphasized that limited access does not hinder the Indonesian Army's presence in assisting communities, especially those in remote and isolated areas. This effort demonstrates the Indonesian Army's responsibility in carrying out humanitarian duties. "Simaningir Village is currently inaccessible by land. However, the Indonesian Army continues to strive to distribute aid, despite the difficult terrain," he said.
The aid distributed is expected to ease the burden on communities isolated by the disruption of road access, while ensuring that their basic needs are met during the emergency response period. The Simaningir Village Head expressed his appreciation for the Indonesian Army's concern and swift action in reaching his area after the disaster. The presence of the Gulbencal Task Force is considered a significant help to the community amidst limited access and challenging field conditions.
The Indonesian Army, through the Gulbencal Task Force, will continue to coordinate with local governments and relevant agencies to support post-disaster response and ensure humanitarian aid reaches all those in need. (Dispenad)
