The 0210/North Tapanuli Military District Command Holds Free Haircuts for Post-Disaster Refugee Children
The free haircut activity was carried out ahead of the resumption of teaching and learning activities on January 5, 2026. Refugee children who will enter the new semester at school are expected to look neat and mentally prepared, so that they can build enthusiasm and confidence when returning to the school environment.
The Head of the Indonesian Military Command (Kapendam) for the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) stated that this activity is part of the TNI's efforts to help the community, especially children, maintain a sense of care and togetherness amidst the difficult post-disaster situation. In addition to helping maintain order, this activity also serves as a means of entertainment and emotional outreach for the displaced children.
One of the refugee children, Bendris Sitompul, expressed his joy and enthusiasm after receiving a free haircut from an Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) soldier. He felt more presentable and even more eager to return to school. "Thank you, soldier, I'm even more handsome and excited to go to school," he said cheerfully.
