Amidst Difficult Terrain, Indonesian Army Soldiers Continue to Try to Open Access to the Cut-Off Road

SIBOLGA, SUMUT, SABTANEWS.COM – Following the natural disaster that struck North Sumatra, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) soldiers continue to work hard to open the cut-off road access connecting North Tapanuli Regency, Sibolga City, and Central Tapanuli Regency.

Danrem 023/KS Colonel Inf Iwan Budiarso, when directly inspecting the location, said that the route that was previously isolated due to landslides and flash floods is now the main priority in post-disaster recovery efforts, Tuesday (9/12/2025).

"We, the Indonesian Army, along with other agencies, are committed to reopening this route as quickly as possible. In addition to distributing logistical aid, we also need to ensure its usability. We are currently focused on penetrating these points in the field, continuing to deploy personnel and heavy equipment to ensure the route can be reopened," he stressed.
