HABEMA’S SOCIAL COMMUNICATION STRENGTHENS RELATIONSHIP WITH NDUGUSIGA RESIDENTS

 

Sugapa Intan Jaya, SABTANEWS.COM – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Monday, 23 December 2024, the 509 Patrol Team visited Ndugusiga Village, Sugapa District, and conducted Social Communication (Komsos) during the areal protection activities.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of the community, the Commander of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, stressed the importance of the Task Forces’ focus on the community's fundamental needs in the assigned area. Therefore, on Monday, the Soldiers took advantage of their task by helping the Ndugusiga residents through social communication. By conducting the communication, the Soldiers learned about the development of security conditions and difficulties the Ndugusiga residents had.

By prioritizing security during activities, harmonious interactions between TNI Soldiers and residents have resulted in a close relationship between the two parties. To increase familiarity, the Soldiers distributed food supplies the Ndugusiga residents needed. The community members were very enthusiastic about welcoming the presence and help from the 509 Task Forces. One of them, Mr Agustinus Mujizau, expressed his impression: "Praise God, thank you, Commander 509. God bless.”

Upon receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, commended the 509 Task Forces’ initiative to conduct social communication and distribute food supplies to residents of Ndugusiga village. His words: 'The 509 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to conduct inclusive Social Communication with all stakeholders to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region.' This recognition from the highest authority in HABEMA is not just a commendation but a testament to the significant impact of such initiatives on the region's development. It instills profound hope and optimism about their potential to shape the region's future positively. It makes the Task Forces and the community feel recognized, valued, and respected for their efforts. It gives everyone a sense of hope and optimism about the region's future development.
