Kamat Residents Happily Welcomed Habema's Free Food

Aifat Timur Tengah Maybrat, SABTANEWS.COM – One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Para Raider Infantry Battalion 501/Bajra Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Maybrat Regency, Papua Barat Daya Province. On Tuesday, 5 November 2024, the 501 Task Forces Patrol Team carried out routine security patrols in the Aifat Timur Tengah District, specifically the Kamat Village. During the patrol, the Team had an opportunity to distribute free food to the residents.

Before the patrol began, the 501 Task Forces, especially the Kamat Post led by Second Lieutenant Puji Handoko, had prepared several food packages to distribute to the residents. It was done to enhance the relationship between the Soldiers and the Kamat residents. Therefore, that Tuesday morning, the Soldiers brought several packages of food with rice in them, and then distributed to the residents.

When the food was distributed, the residents who received it expressed their joy with big smiles while saying thank you. A senior Papuan mother, named Mama Marta Murib, expressed her gratitude by saying "Praise God, Commander 501, thank you for sharing the food. God bless TNI."

Upon receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, commended the 501 Task Forces’ initiative to provide free food to residents of Kamat Village. His words: "The 501 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to provide the community’s basic need to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region."
